How to disable the cartoon characters

If you don't like the cartoon characters that appear during the lessons you can block them. It works on PC and also on mobile browsers (at least in Mozilla).

Install the "Adblock" or "Adblocker" or "uBlock Origin" or "uMatrix" extension for your browser.

Go into its settings. Go to "my filters" list.

Add the following three lines to it:

www.duolingo.com##._1RL1c 

www.duolingo.com##._2Dn_R 

www.duolingo.com##.F2B9m

Apply changes if necessary. Done.

You might need to refresh the page to make the filter work (F5).

If you feel ad blocking is cheating websites of the ad income, you can whitelist any website you want (e.g. Duolingo) and just use it for the cosmetic filtering ability.
